Heeeeey, Microsoft

I don't know how many of you read Steve Gilliard's News Blog, but he's got an action alert up this morning about our good friends across the lake, Microsoft. Okay, let me put it this way, Microsoft, since you've saturated the friggin' market with your product, how exactly, do you think Ken Hutcherson is going to organize a nationwide boycott against you?

Seriously -- I mean, maybe people would be a little more tolerant of MS's monopolistic tendencies if, just once in a while, they used their power for good. Microsoft can do whatever they want! Fear of a boycott is bullshit.

Exactly!

Have a little think about your daily activities, how many of them involve some kind of computer? Not just stuff you do on your own, but scheduling at your doctor's office, the Touchpoint system your waiter at the Applebee's uses when putting your order in and calculating your tab...

There's just no way to boycott MS. It would end up costing the fundies more in the end, because I'll bet you a buck 2.50 that the Antioch Church in Redmond uses an MS-based system for their computers. How're they gonna publish the church calendar without it? How are they going to print next Sunday's programs?

The 11th Commandment?

"Thou shalt use only WordPerfect."

Probably what is giving Microsoft the willies is fear of negative publicity. Of course, now they are going to get negative publicity by the bushel basket load.

By the way, do you think he used WORD to type the manuscript for this little gem?

I think the bullet-headed old fuck is trying to drum up publicity for himself. Am I the only one who thinks he grins like that damn purple dinosaur thing?
