Sooooo, my beloved ibook died. I've been able to limp along with it running for anywhere from ten seconds to four hours for the past few weeks. The additional shim didn't work as well as it might have, despite the Magical Mac Tech's best efforts. I was able to get online with La Cyn's MacBook when she wasn't home

For years, I mean years, all of my computers were named Grendel. Every last one of them. The beloved ibook had no name, actually.

My external harddrive is named Pook.
Our router/network is named after something in a Charles de Lint book.
