I really am appalled by all the repugs who support this woman and think it's no big deal that she wanted to ban books. It's sickening.

That's just shocking.

As is how big a deal (and how competitive) the PTA seems to be in the USA communities! How exactly is being on the PTA in *any way* close by to being a town Mayor?!

At my kids' school, the PTA is a group of mums who hold fundraisers mainly to have an excuse for a social and get tipsy. The last event's money was spent on buying books for the school's library...
