I understand about the smell. Smell is very important to me, and may easily turn me off if someone doesn't smell "right" or "sexy."

Yeah, seriously. That's why I can't even tell from a photograph. I just don't know until I get within two feet of someone. It's not even a cologne thing, which can be a bit off-putting actually, but a person-skin thing.

That's a shame. Like you say, not bad, and it's nice to be reminded that they're not all That Guy, but let's hope for better tomorrow...

yes. what they said. and also - you know - good to see there are good people out there, just not in 'that' way. would you, say, consider being friends with him?

a friend was saying to me the other day about this thing she recently realised, that she used to be very inflexible in her 'choice' of status when she met people - i.e. 'he's great as a friend', 'i want his hot loving babies', 'she's nice for going to the theatre with' - type of thing and then got terribly disappointed when the person did not fit the particular box she had placed him/her in. apparently, being more open-minded is good. like, see where things may go if there is an initial 'ok-ish-ness' about the person. i'm working on it myself...

Oh yeah, I would definitely consider being friends, especially with him. However, it is far more often the case that the mens do not want that. Sadly.

But he was very nice, never talked down to me, no shades of That Guy, put an effort into conversation, and I liked him; just not in That Way.

I'm glad he was nice, anyway.
