LMAO! I've never been to New York but these things sound hilarious. I think any fictional invasion demands suspension of disbelief b/c I swear, sometimes it's like the writers haven't even done their research. >_<
It was ttly Hal on the radio. Nothing will convince me otherwise! XD

Heh, yeah, I think yesterday was the first time I ever actually thought about what that guy on the radio was saying, and then I had to pause, cause it really is a pretty shitty defense setup. But as was mentioned below, chances are, NYC was already pretty infiltrated, so they could have been dealing with enough internal issues that they didn't have the time or resources to think about tunnels in great detail. I don't know. Now I want more details on how this global vampire takeover all went down!

And yes, that was absolutely Hal. The radio just had shitty reception and distorted his voice.

Well, you've got to figure that NY is crawling with vampires to begin with, so I'm not sure why an outside invasion force would even be necessary. To me, that's much less annoying than the fact that the lease was probably in George's name, so how are they keeping the rented house? Who's making the payments?

Yeah, I think NYC was definitely screwed no matter what, because I'm sure it was already infiltrated, but they had 10,000 vampires coming in through tunnels under the Hudson according to 4x01. At least make it difficult for them! Make them take boats! or swim! Chances are, if they were already infiltrated, and if they were one of the last areas of resistance, then they probably didn't have the means to do much else other than block bridges with overturned cars anyway ( ... )

lso that seems like a pretty shady plan coming from Tom and Annie).

Yeah, but in ep 4.02 they're shoplifting, so maybe their bar for shadiness is a little higher than originally...or maybe the mortgage is an auto-withdrawal from George's account?

Also: re:signatures -- My mother had surgery a few years ago, and I was home with her, helping her out and paying her bills. I'd write the checks up and get her to sign them. But one day, I wasn't paying attention, and I signed my name to her check and mailed that utility payment. The bank took it with no questions. So I'm thinking that a difference in signature wouldn't be an obstacle.
