zagury gave me the prompt "All I can say is maybe" to write and convinced me to post it, so this is for her :) also, it's unbeated because I'm stubborn like that, so any mistakes are completely mine.
“Ginny, are you asleep?” The blonde whispered softly to the redhead who was resting on her lap.
“Mmm.” The same redhead groaned softly, just to let the other girl know she was listening.
“After all this is over,” Luna said while she played with a few strands of red hair, “we should find a place.”
Ginny looked up abruptly, her eyes fixed on Luna’s (just to be sure she wasn’t kidding) (not that Luna made that sort of things much), and when the blonde gave her a smile (did her cheeks get a little pink?) and Ginny felt all warm inside, she just made another noise and turned a bit so as to get more comfortable. “Maybe.”
But she knew (of course) that when the war was over, that would be the first thing they would do (after telling their family).
---
“Luna?” Ginny said aloud after closing the door to their flat, but received no answer, “Lun?”
There was light in the place, so Luna had to be somewhere, it was only a matter of finding her (she was always disappearing like this when she wanted to surprise Ginny with something). She looked in the kitchen, the bedroom, and clearly Luna wasn’t in the living room, so the redhead went straight to the bathroom.
Luna was definitely a view, lying in the tub with her hair behind her head in a messy bun and the spectrespecs covering half of her face, and even with the steam of the hot water Ginny could see the outline of the blonde’s body (the thin arms and the handful breasts that she loved).
“Luna?” She said softly, not wanting to disturb the other woman (someone should definitely do a painting of Luna someday) (or maybe not, because Ginny didn’t exactly know how she felt about sharing).
“Ginny!” The blonde automatically raised both her arms, motioning for the redhead to come closer, “I was walking around with my spectrespecs and found out that the bathroom was full of Wrackspurts.” She said in a serious tone, one of her hands playing with a strand of red hair.
“Are they gone now?” Ginny whispered, her face mere inches from the other woman’s.
“Yes.” Luna answer was but a small movement of her lips, “The steam -”
Ginny captured her lips, holding Luna’s chin in place with one hand (she loved how Luna always bit her bottom lip a little). The kiss was like a greeting and it ended right after; the redhead smiled, nuzzling Luna’s cheek softly, “I’ll go make the tea.”
“Gin?” Luna called from the kitchen door, and Ginny smiled when she turned with two mugs of tea and found the blonde wearing only a t-shirt and underpants (she looked so cute and innocent) (and irresistible), “I was thinking maybe we should have a pet.”
“A pet?” Ginny raised an eyebrow, giving Luna one of the mugs, “Like what?”
“A kneazle.” The blonde’s smile was so shiny the redhead couldn’t help but smile back.
“And what name would we give to him? Her?” She said tentatively, sipping her own tea in the meanwhile.
“Him.” The blonde answered cheerfully, “His name is Lud.”
“Lud, huh?” Ginny said, sipping her tea one more time. Luna always did this with her, even if she knew the answer already (she did it because she cared about Ginny’s opinion) (Ginny loved her a bit more for it), “Maybe.”
Ginny also knew, by the way Luna was acting, that Lud was probably with Hermione for the time being and would probably be there by the next morning.
---
“Did you pick a name for the baby yet?” Hermione said joyfully, eyeing Luna’s tummy with a smile on her face.
“Well, we just found out the sex, but...” Ginny grinned at her, nudging Luna’s arm softly with her own.
“What?” Hermione smiled, “Why do I feel you two are plotting something?”
“We wanted his name to be Jean,” Luna’s voice was so dreamy Hermione couldn’t help the tears, “and we were wondering if you’d give us the pleasure of being his Godmother.” By the end of Luna’s little speech, Hermione had stood from her chair and had hugged both of them at the same time, pecking their lips.
“I take it you’re okay with it?” Ginny said playfully, earning herself a scowl from the bushy-haired brunette and a hearty chuckle from Luna.
Later that day, when they were already in bed and Ginny had one arm around Luna’s waist, the blonde turned around so they would face each other. The redhead removed a strand of blonde hair from the other woman’s face.
“Is something bothering you?” She whispered softly, like speaking loudly would break the room’s enchantment.
“Jean Lovegood-Weasley?” Luna asked, nuzzling the redhead’s neck softly.
“Lovegood-Weasley?” Ginny raised her eyebrows, smiling before kissing Luna’s lips, “Maybe. Now go to sleep, you and the baby need a rest.”
All I can say is maybe, but I give in every time, she thought to herself with a smile, cuddling closer to Luna.
