Nasty impatient customers piss me off.  I know deep down that they are simply people who feel powerless in their own lives exerting their limited power over me as a customer service slave to feel better about their pathetic lives, but it still makes my blood boil.  I do NOT treat people like that and I'm astounded that others feel it is perfectly

THANK YOU! I was a shift manager at dunkin donuts and i hated that feeling in the pit of my stomach as I was staring at all the timers making sure every thing was going quick enough. It made for a stressfull and long day to break everything down into two minute intervals.

i don't think it's an american thing - i think as a culture becomes more industrial, those seen as “servants” - ie customers service people, get dumped on more and more. From my understanding, it's much worse in Japan, and I've gotten that impression about India as well.
