I loved all the things about this! Interesting plot that grabbed you from the start, enjoyable characterization, engaging style and great flow, and I loved, loved the building and establishing of the Dean/Cas dynamic in this. I had to read it all in one go cause I couldn't put it down.
Thank you! I'm always so happy when readers like the characterization! I love them so much but I always worry I'm not getting their 'voices' right. I find Castiel is hard to write for - he's very... intense in some ways.
I didn't know how much I could love Cas as a fed who is faced with the supernatural and starts channeling Fox Mulder until I read this story. At least that's what immediately came to mind when he began investigating the odd and seemingly inexplicable.
And I was so pleased that even though Cas was a victim of a horrific crime, he didn't let this define him. He was strong and confident and proactive.
While Dean and Cas were physically separated for a large portion of the story, the emotional connection was evident and a joy to read as it developed.
And, they were so beautiful together once they got together that my heart was aching in fear of them being torn apart forever. Thank God (hehe) this couple gets another chance.
Thanks so much for sharing. I really enjoyed reading your tale.
Thank you so much! I really worried that I had Dean and Cas apart too much for it to be a romance, but I hoped that I gave them a connection! I'm glad it came through for you!
I loved this story and I seriously love how your mind works. This was a perfect blend of terror, sadness, and love. You have All of the characters down so perfectly! Once I started this there was no stopping reading it. I have just gone through it for the second time and it just gets better and better. Putting this one in my memories!!!!!
Wow, what a ride. I'm so glad they got their happy ending - and relieved they got that happy ending, because, during that scene in the church, I had to try and convince myself that you would have put up a warning 'character death' and there had been none - but I'm also sad that it's over. What a great story. The way they met, the slowly developping relationship, Cas' process of understanding the supernatural, them meeting again and of course the ending and what it suggests... you did great, you really did. I started this yesterday and spent every free minute reading and had so much fun doing so, except of course the few minutes when all I was thinking was 'She wouldn't let him die, she WOULDN'T let him die...'. So thanks a lot for writing this. It may have taken you a while, but it was definitely worth it...
Thank you! I hope you weren't too worried! I always believe in happy endings! Once, I read a dc_dystopia fic and even though I KNEW it COULDN'T have a happy ending (it was dystopia fic!) I was still PRAYING AND HOPING. it was one of the best fics I've ever read but it HURT!
