Dean: So what the hell was that last part with the merge? FJ!!: The doctor ended up demonically inside Max's... (at this moment I realize what I am saying) ...shell Dean: In this movie Maximilian Schell ends up inside Maximilian's shell? WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I catch this movie every time I can. I also have to confess my never-ending love for Saturn V.
I liked the movie too. Of course as a kid, you get attracted to Vincent blasting all the humanoid crew members with their weird cloud-city-car guns.
I was 4 when this came out, my mom was 21, so she and I like it for different reasons. I probably saw it 2 or 3 years ago on cable, and still had to watch it all the way through.
I can get really critical about inconsistencies and inaccuracies in movies, but, once I've determined I like something, I turn up the suspension of disbelief to 11, and actively stop caring that it's just wacky.
I loved this movie as a kid (dude, robots and spaceships and guns FTW). HAven't seen it as an adult, but I have a feeling that I'd be a lot like genxcub when it comes to that. Almost every bad movie from my childhood is still a great movie to me because it just reminds me of my childhood...
