Today's Lives Lived column in the Globe profiles a fellow I'm 99.99% sure I went to high school with. He was crazy cool in high school AND he was on the debating team. Wow. *HUG* That really takes the wind out of my sails. What an amazing guy. Seems unfair that wonderful, productive, loving lives are cut short. I want to believe there is a purpose but it's hard to find sometimes. My thoughts are with you and this amazing fellow that spread joy to those that knew him.

I think the thing that's getting me down about reading it in the paper is the fact that this is the second time I've read a tribute to a peer in this column (the first time was for C's sister). I'm only 34 years old. I should have read *zero* columns about people I knew, who were my age.

But more importantly, the people who loved them most shouldn't have had to write them.

So sorry to read this. The article was a very moving and touching tribute to what certainly sounded like a great guy.

These things really to add a lot of perspective. Every day really is a blessing...

I just compared the two photos and yeah ... definitely the Chris I knew.

I was half glad to have the leaking/flooding in my living room to serve as a distraction, stupid as that sounds.
