Ubuntu 8.10 on a PS3

Jumped through hoops to get Ubuntu 8.10 onto my PS3. Jumped through more hoops to get WPA working so I could get it onto our home network (that required a custom kernel). Played around a bit. The system is severely limited and the graphics are ass slow. There's no accelerated video support, so you can't use it as a media system at all - video

linux on a ps3 is best served as a compute server.

And then only if you're special and feel like doing the SPE programming for whatever task you're trying to do.
