Maybe this satire is only funny to writers or to people who have slogged their way through academia, but it made me laugh.

Haha! This made me laugh loads due to an incident earlier this week. Mister Spockchick snores - a bit - particularly on his back. I was awoken at night and pushed out a hand to determine his sleeping position.

"You're snoring, can you roll onto your side?"

Pause; "no, no, 's OK, it wasn't a published journal."

Honestly - WTF?

That is funny -- and open to all sorts of interpretations. Dreams haunted by the shades of research articles?

I used to keep a list of particularly attention-grabbing academic Calls for Papers -- one was for a journal of electronic dance music. I badly wanted to believe that the conference where these papers were presented would conclude with a big dance party & academics waving their arms in the air.
