holidays are for the birds

Or rather taking pictures of them, apparently. I don't have any particular fondness for bird-watching, but they do make interesting and challenging subjects. I realized I have more pictures of birds from the last month of vacation, than I do of anything else. Here's a sample:

Birdies! Daw. I love the action shots. Ooh, and the hummingbirds are so cute! I have a pair that yell at me when I'm working around the bee balm and they can't get to it, hee. It's always cool when you see them actually land somewhere and be still. (When I was in Peru, we saw giant hummingbirds which are like 6 times the size of the little ones, and it would freak me out when they went humming around because they were so BIG. With the big, long BEAKS.)

Hummingbirds are aggressive! These ones were litterally fighting with a swarm of wasps over the feeders. I'd be very afraid of those Peruvian ones!
