need more time

I need more time to read and/or listen to books. I am currently more than obsessed with Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I finished the first book in the trilogy on Wednesday I'm about 1/4 of the way through the second book and I keep looking up spoilers online because it's driving me nuts not knowing what's going to happen ( Read more... )

I'm so gonna read that trilogy now. I'm reading the fourth book in the Game Of Thrones series and the first in the Wolf Hall trilogy, and listening to Fahrenheit 451 on my way to and from clients. I would like nothing better than to spend the ennnnntirrreee weekend with books and Easter candy.

I've listened to audio books of the Game of Thrones books twice--once back in 2005 when I first found them, then again when the HBO series came out a couple years ago. I had totally forgotten them so it was like reading them anew. I love that my book memory is pretty bad so I can rediscover books. After I finish this series I'm going to go back and re-listen to the Wheel of Time series. It's huge, but at least now it's finished, so I can listen to the last few that I was missing.

You should recommend me some stuff - we have pretty similar taste in fantasy. I've had trouble getting into anything lately, which is frustrating.

I was saving this topic for tonight! Boo!! Have you read Mistborn? It's early in Sanderson's career and the writing can be a little clunky at times, but the story is superb.

I also have heard good things about the Lies of Lock Lamora, so I have that one in my queue waiting for a chance for me to get to it.

And I know it's not your cup of tea, but I'm going to reread and finish the wheel of time series one of these days. It got pretty draggy in the middle where I dropped out, but I heard the ending is good.
