Windchill in the -30's = lose

Having to study for YET ANOTHER German test = lose

Taking a hot bath with patchouli and orange bath thingy while studying meditating on B's imminent arrival = win

Dark chocolate with raspberries = win

Not having to leave the house tonight for any reason = win

The National Weather Service has issued a wind-chill advisory from 6:00 p.m. today through the weekend. Low wind-chill temperatures of -25 degrees to -35 degrees are dangerous and life-threatening. Exposed skin (fingers, ears, face etc) can suffer frostbite in 10 minutes!

Brunch yesterday was... fairly disastrous. Someone filled our baking powder jar with baking soda. Woe to you who think they are the same! If you bake something with soda instead of powder, it will come out dark brown and salty/bitter like a really nasty pretzel. Does anyone know why that happens, chemically speaking? Happy spring! I had a very restful and productive break. After Saira departed in a blaze of glory, I spent a week mostly reading, knitting, hanging out with Julia, cuddling the kitty, and doing spring cleaning. Oh, and did I mention it's been snowing?!

I woke up still grumpy and the outside world was rainy. Then, after class, I walked in on a very busy Chaplain and she said she couldn't talk until next week, but we ended up having one of our usual hour-long conversations on the spur of the moment. I no longer feel like a time bomb.

It feels like spring today. Everything is melting, messy and muddy, and the breeze is crisp.
