Hmm. I would certainly be interested in hearing more about why library school sucked for you. I certainly want to know all I can about something before I pursue it (and I would be pursuing it for next year at the earliest).
I would also like to know more about your definition of fulfilling, though. I think for many liberal arts grads, becoming a professor of something feels like the best use of their potential, the most fulfilling thing for them. But for me, as I've mentioned before, getting on the purely academic track would feel like "settling" right now, just because of my personality. I don't want to get stuck studying just one thing... there is no one thing I love more than anything else. So I am looking for alternatives. I'd be happy to hear about why you don't think LIS is a good one, through email if you'd prefer.
Your best bet might be reading through some of my old journal entries tagged ischool (and/or ut and librarianship, though there is of course a lot of overlap
