Somehow, it's just not as epic if Near has the female voice wasn't Japanese!Near voiced by a woman? and still sounded like a boy? I guess because he's not so thoroughly girly like Mello appears.

that's true. someone told me japanese near was voiced by a female va. i am lazy & can't be arsed to look it up.

i totally thought near was a girl until the part with the explanatory title cards that said "a boy named near blah blah heading the spk"
