Dear Driver of the Mini-School Bus on Queen St. West this Morning,

Double-parking your bus is rude.

Double-parking your bus on Queen St. West is dumb.

Double-parking your bus at 8:15 A.M. on Queen St. West so that it blocks the streetcar lane, and holds traffic up for several blocks, while you go get a coffee at the pseudo-French patisserie, ( Read more... )

She was just really oblivious!

Drive-thru coffee shops are a suburban thing -- I don't know of any downtown (of course this might be because I don't drive, so don't notice them.) I think they're horrid, but then I think many things suburban horrid.

Much as I hate McDonald's I am rather fond of the walk-up Mc-D's window at Queen&Spadina -- though I'm more fond of the notion than I am of the establishment.

Oh, it's not a snobbish comment to make at all; it's observation. I'm from Newmarket. It was all mullets and acid-washed jeans when I was living there in the 80s. The problem is that when I go back, it's still all mullets and acid-washed jeans.
