BTW, I think you have some kind of HTML glitch in your post - there are a couple of paragraphs that are showing on my friends page that don't show when I click through to the entry. I think it's the part that was supposed to be behind the first lj-cut, but somehow ended up doing the reverse, and showing it only on the journal page and not on the entry page. The top of the table is two pieces of wood, joined by a tongue-in-groove join. Over time, the pieces have pulled apart, and warped, and they don't fit back together quite smoothly, so the joint needs to be shaved or something to make everything fit together, then the pieces need to be smooshed together again. If this were my own table, and if I had a workshop, I'd do it myself, but again, not my table, so a mistake would be upsetting. Heck, I'd do it myself if I had someone experienced to show me what to do and to make sure I don't futz it up.
