So on Thanksgiving weekend, I wrote the LSAT. I'm not going to say much about it, because it's a long test and kind of boring. I have no idea how I fared.

Good heavens, a flashback to my "History of Science and Technology" final exam. "Hippocrates has applied for admission to the University of Ottawa medical school, and has asked you to write to the Dean a confidential letter of reference giving an opinion on his abilities and potential. So write it."

I don't know you very well but I know from application letters! although not for law school.

Some ideas I had....Your background as a small business owner has given you insight into the long hours and hard work it takes to make a go of it as a professional.

As a teacher, you have an intimate knowledge of the power of language and a consuming interest in policies and how they impact your fellow humans. You shine academically as evidenced by XYZ.

You have many outside interests that contribute to your well-rounded application, including chorus (they love that shit). You belong on XYZ committees and do XYZ with your free time.

As a mature student and entrepreneur, you will add diversity and professional perspective to the student body.

You have developed networking skills that will lend strength to your future career as a lawyer. Your current professional network will remain intact and support your career.

You have excellent interpersonal skills and strong abilities to mediate, help multiple parties reach compromise and balance the needs of all interested parties.

Your language skills, both oral and written, are exemplary and you excel at expressing your ideas clearly and concisely. In fact, you've made a living doing just that.

You are a passionate advocate for various underdogs.

Ummm... you are informed. You can manage complex tasks with ease. You work well under stress and have a healthy respect for deadlines.

That's just off the top of my head. More later.
