The Weatherill report on the causes of and factor influencing last year's Listeriosis outbreak (the one that resulted in the deaths of 20 people) was leaked to CTV last night. Impolitical has picked up on several really bad decisions, and gives cogent explanations of why they're bad.

Perhaps we could relocate the Federal Government to Walkerton.

I meant to mention Walkerton. Got distracted.

I wonder whether the feds are even aware of Walkerton. After all, why should an ideologue from Alberta care about the missteps of a provincial government in some small town where a bunch of people got sick and died as a result of poor oversight? ... Oh wait.

You might think that having a Cabinet member who had served as Minister of Health in Harris' government might have provided some insight. Not that the utterly appalling Clement knows a damn thing about health care but he should at least be aware of Walkerton. Then there's SARS, another product of gutting the Public Health system.

Yes. And then the Harper government dismantled the measures that the government took in response to the SARS outbreak. They're that immune to learning from experience.
