HALP: Who's Your ISP?

Mar 16, 2009 15:13

So Sabo and I have had Internet troubles for months. MY ISP, Uniserve, rents DSL from Bell, and swears up and down that they've lodged a ticket with Bell, and it's high priority, they've never seen this on a line, yadda yadda yadda. She's bought a new modem, just in case my aged DSL modem was the problem (they and Bell had already assured us that ( Read more... )

We use Rogers. They were the first company to offer highspeed in our building and we've been with them ever since. It's very reliable but on the odd occasion something has gone wrong their service/support has been double plus ungood redoubled in spades. FWIW we are in an approximately 25 year old condo building.

Rogers too. I haven't ever really had to deal with their tech support, I don't think... there's odd outages at 4 am sometimes... that's about it. We switched our landline to them too.

We've also got Rogers. We're in an older apartment building, with cable wiring outside. We've had some outages, but nothing major, and we've never had any problems running a network inside the apartment (1 linux server, 1 windows desktop box, multiple laptops - don't ask why two people need this many computers...)

While I understand the reluctance to deal with Rogers, I've had to deal with tech support a few times, and haven't ever had problems with them. The uptime is pretty good, generally, and you'd have to ask curgoth how much it costs.

We're with Primus... Triple Bundle Lite.... and we haven't had any problems at all - and the customer service people are polite and helpful all the time.

Works for us - but if you don't pay for your own phone - may not work for you. Oh, and we've got *vintage* wiring.

We pay for our own phone, but have heard horror stories about Primus, and had a hard time getting rid of them last time we had them for anything. But good to know they work with older wiring.

Why, yes, I am supposed to be having a massage right now. Stupid TTC.
