Aw, remember the pictures in the old Sea Monkey ads? Little anthropomorphoid figures with happy faces and tails. I so wanted my own little family of Sea Monkeys, until someone showed me a picture of what they really look like.

*sigh*

I think that disappointment is one of those experiences that binds people of our generation and shared cultures.

Didn't the happy creatures have hands, too, in the pictures?

I'm so excited. Our generation is all growed up and in charge of curriculum!

I will find a way to incorporate Sea Monkeys in future lessons.

I'm still curious about "The Reluctant Raccoon," billed as "The first story ever about The Sea-Monkey Farm."

Not curious enough to shell out 18 bucks plus S&H, mind you. I do try to picture the author at a festival...

"It's my pleasure to introduce to you, the woman who wrote the first ever book about Sea Monkeys, Ms. Yolanda Von Braunhut." [raucous cheers from thronged masses]

Would it be enough to gain one entry to the Writers' Union?
