Every time we do one of these (except for the sweet-potato pie), I think "That's it. We can't possibly top that." And yet, those who come with their culinary experiments keep rising to the challenge.

The after-the-fact theme for this Sunday turned out to have been chickpeas and smoked chillis, with a side of kale. sabotabby has, as usual, beat me to Read more... )

Of course, without a kitchen scale I had to estimate the measurements. And the writing in the recipe is horrible, so I doubt that I followed it too accurately (you might notice that I made one big tart, but the recipe is for six little ones... though there's only a picture of one... blahblahblah).

So, I just kinda winged it. Came out pretty nicely, though. I'm chuffed about it.

Actually, it was the wine that curgoth brought. I just stole it to drink it, which is why I may have looked as if I was the rightful owner of the bottle.
