‘Cause I kinda feel like Sam, what if you assume this is real life and bask in the glory of your show finally getting their shit together and then they snap their fingers, cackling ‘JUST KIDDING!‘ and you find yourself still waiting out back in tv show hell.

THIS!!! You basically said the same things I did in my reaction post, only with much, much more eloquence. :3

SO MUCH brotherly love this season, I can't even! ♥

I fricken loved this episode. My booooys. <3

I pretty much did the fangirly reaction in my reaction post, but I think my favorite part was when Dean was checking Sam's hand and being all big brotherly, and then toward the end when he had to convince Sam that he was real, and then Bobby's house and the boys getting hurt and Dean being like "hold on, Sammy!" It's completely reminiscent of In My Time of Dying.

I know I'm in the unpopular crowd, but i'm so relieved and find it refreshing that the angel arch seems to be over no that Cas is "gone." I like Misha. I don't mind Cas. But the show FEELS like the show I fell in love with again, and that's all I want. And for the people who are not going to watch the show any more because Cas is "gone" and they don't even know that he's "gone" for sure? Their loss on missing out on what I think will be an amazing season, and will probably be the best one in a long time...since before Cas even came into play.

OHHHHH even days later, I still can't pick out a favorite part. Rewatching only got me finding MORE fav parts. Definitely a marked difference from S6, which I get the feeling is exactly what it was intended to be. S6 really was another animal, and interesting exercise, but a total inversion of what SPN has been for the last five years and it totally put a pause button on the Dean and Sam. So I'm glad we're getting back to stuff that's been left hanging for the last year ( ... )

Your reaction post makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! It's getting a huge hug from me right now. This episode was excellent! There's not much I can say that hasn't already been commented on here. A couple of things I wondered about is first, where are they going to consider a second home base now that Bobby's place was fried extra crispy. They could always set up shop at Sampa's compound. Sampa had a research library that rivaled Bobby's. The second thing I thought about is will Sam begin to inflict pain on himself to stop the hallucinations. That whole scene was both heartrending and beautiful.

I think the point of frying Bobby's house up was primarily to rip a home base from them. I have a feeling it's going to be lots of libraries and bars and motel rooms for a while. Plus, I'd be totally fine with them forgetting Sampa ever existed. It's the one piece of S6 that even retrospectively just makes me WTF on.

The second thing I thought about is will Sam begin to inflict pain on himself to stop the hallucinations.
Funny thing is, the idea that this could lead to BAD THINGS was the furthest from my mind when I first watched that scene. This show has fucked me up for good, because I didn't even bat an eye at the idea of Dean teaching Sam to inflict pain to stop hallucinations. It just seemed perfectly Winchester. OH BOYS.

HANDS MOTIF FTW!!!
I know we probably read too much in our show but I think this "hands motif" can be very interesting!I noticed that Sam's injured hand is the left one,and when Dean touches Sam or take his hand he always does it with his right one!We all know that in the past being left-handed meant nothing good,it was seen as a sign of the devil;superstitions,folklore,religion...left is synonymous with evil or bad in general! On the other hand (ahaha,I didn't mean to use this expression but it fits perfectly!:P)the right hand is synonymous with good,I'm not going to make a list of all the things associated to it,I'll just mention that in Christianity the right hand is the one that gives the blessing! And obviously this reminds me of Michael holding the sword in his right hand and ......
P.s. The title thing is confusing,I mean...I don't want it to be related only to the Leviathans,it loses the "poetry"!:D ( ... )

HANDS! There were definitely alot of hands in this one! Nice catch at the right handed grabs! I totally missed that Dean also wakes Sam up in the beginning by nudging him with his right hand. And then tries to wake him up in the end after Sam's knocked out with his right hand too. I'm not sure how much of that is just acting choices at the moment in time though. Like Sam had a gun in his right hand but Dean took it with his left in the same scene. So maybe bandaging the left made more sense if Jared's right handed?

but at this point I want SUPERNATURAL=SAM&DEAN to be the white (opposed to the black=evil) knight that will seal the darkness and keep it that way!THIS! That's exactly how I'm taking it until someone else says otherwise. It's striking comparison to S6 where the title SHATTERED the same way SamnDean themselves did. Plus, I'm reminded of conversations is S4 about how there were only two sides, those with the Winchesters and those against them. And how in S5 there was talk about how white --> humanity. That Leviathans are ( ... )
