So between this episode and a version of Angitone that plays heavy on the political currents, I'm just in awe of the show.

Wait, Angitone, what?

Don't worry. I went to see a play last night instead of watching Show live. But the version of Angitone had all of these political undertones (or overtones), that coupled with what you started to say about this episode and I'm back in 2001/2002.

Ohhh, yes, I see. That's the funny thing, it's obvious a crapload of work and energy went into this script to make so much of every piece seem so intentional. Edlund's scripts especially have always played with the Bush/War on Terror politics. But completely unintentionally, damn if it wasn't a timely week for this to air!

Color meta! Brilliant. Wow, they went to town, didn't they?

While the realization that Cas has joined the 'dealing with a devil, reap the consequence' club was awesome, the idea of those three passing judgment on Cas when they BUILT the clubhouse? Is kinda comical.

After reading spoilers for the ep, I went around for a week or two feeling annoyed, would they pass judgment on someone for doing what they've done so many times? But after reading some Edlund interviews I realized that a) any anger they have is about how much they love Castiel -- the sense of betrayal. It's not supposed to be rational. and b) I think they know they built the clubhouse. Dean is trying to throw Cas a rope and keep yet another person he cares for from going off that cliff, and he's gone off that cliff himself and he knows all about this, which is making it all the more painful to see this happening. Dean can see the car wreck happening and is desperate to stop it.

I am soooo glad I stayed away from the spoilers on this one, I see now they really gave alot about it away early.

But no, I do agree, it's not rational. That's partly what I love about it, and where I chuckle. Because they show again even while trying to help, in reaction to betrayal, the fallible nature we have even in choosing how to help. How to approach to help. We've seen Dean see a car wreck happening to someone he cares about before, and exactly what happens when he's so desperate to stop it. The retread on that history here is brilliant. In the way that makes me chuckle like a loon at 3am. :)

I am glad I came back to the party. Last week was great and this week was exceptional.

I obviously have to google "Ken Lay" to understand this better (that's what you get for not being an American), but the colors were being INSANE. All the reds and whites (and blues) with Cas in the garden, and all the other GAZILLION things in the episode. And on top of that all the talk about souls and the story behind S6 slowly unfolding as this inevitable mess of things starting from Cas wanting Dean to rest for a while and instead going down the road that's paved with good intentions.

You must come back to picspam/color meta this after your finals!
