Last Tuesday we went wakeboarding. They say the hardest part is getting up. It looked so easy when the others did it, so I figured it would take a little getting used to, but that I'd get it in no time. The sky was overcast and, once in a while, we'd get rain. Way to stick with it. While I can get up no problem on 2 skis, the sideways orientation of the wakeboard throws me off. I've had a similar experience to yours except I didn't get up.

You should wear gloves that are made for the sport. Then your hands won't hurt.

I don't think the gloves will help since the problem is that I hold on too long. I have really strong hands and they just naturally grip and don't let go. J commented how you could see the tensile strength of the rope when I was holding on (while dragged through water) and then when I suddenly couldn't hold any longer, they would almost snap back towards the boat.

yeah, I'd really like to go out again. However, I am at the mercy of the owner of the boat.
