An honourable duty discharged... I think.

It's been awhile since I fired up one of these 'me-me' what-do-you-call-ums. And as it seems obligatory to pass on one responded to, away we go ( Read more... )

Awww, I had to pass it along! But then, what's the point of being My beloved if you don't get to break the rules? *grins and kisses*

Still, are you sure I don't blab too much? I mean, one post a year, honestly. You should hear some of the complaints about inbox-spamming that it is! I've no interest in having more family defriend for such constant updates.

Oh, and have you ever tried the book House of Leaves? The mun has been trying to get ahold of it, and it sounds quite disturbingly labyrinthine. Should be grand fun!

Lists? Really?

It's the first sign of senility in deities, you know. First it starts with lists ("Commandments"), then before you know it you can't even recognize your family.

(Saying, "Who are you and what are you doing in my joint?" to recently canonized saints is embarassing, let me tell you.)

You need help, Zhilbar. You need to act quickly, before you wake up one day and realized you turned an entire city to salt because they were a little fruity.

...

Just saying, it happens.

Oh, come on. I'm only 14,000! I can't be going senile yet, I'm just hitting My stride! And this list was a favour to a mortal, I'll have You know.

...But just in case, any suggestions to try staving that off? I'd try nectar and ambrosia, but You saw how well that worked for the Greeks. Smiting everywhere, just for the hell of it.

Incidentally, how are You doing? It's been awhile, I haven't heard how the new Pope is working out.

What can I say? Ambrosia was a pyramid scheme, kind of like Christianity. Whoops.

You know how it is with Me: busy, busy, busy, BUSY.

The pope? Well, he may or may not be a closet nazi and a child molestor, but he has yet to engage in massive, private orgies made possible by the wealth of the church, so by the standards of the Papacy he's doing pretty well.

Altogether, I'd say things are peachy. I kind of miss the old days, though. There's just nothing like a good ol' mountain-side wrathing, you know what I mean? The consultants say there's nothing left in that, but sometimes I get nostalgic.

...That was YOU? Wow, I thought Ra snuck that business on Them! Good show, Sir, good show indeed.

Mmm, true. I quite liked the old one, though; he had some spunk in him, and was practically unkillable! Nothing quite like the demon-summoning one (My personal favourite), but a very feisty Pope indeed. I hope the next one is worth remembering.

I know all too well what You mean, M'lad; sometimes it's just too much fun to let loose. But weren't You starting in on the hurricanes these days? Enjoyable and deniable, all in one.

Maybe we have a different sort of fun. It's not fun for me unless there's people pointing at me going, "Hey, fuck you! FUCK YOU!"

"Why would God let us this happen to us?" that you get with natural disasters just doesn't have the same sort of ring to it.

Mmm, maybe. No wonder You're not enjoying it, then! That sort of thing You want volcanoes for, and Your people are right. It really isn't volcano time anymore.

...*Sigh* I miss spontaneous volcano time too.

2) Aww, nobody ever seems to tell Me their age anymore. I wonder why that is?
2) Haven't heard of that book, I'm afraid. What might it be about?
2) Alas, there are some who seem to think Me less than likeable, possibly due to intolerant hatreds of Mine. You know, things like undead, rednecks, and unicorns... Actually, I could go on for some time.
3) He definitely, definitely does. And you can guess who I consider his best pick, no?
