Hmmm.
I think the reason I didn't comment on this the first go-round, was because I didn't feel an overwhelming connection with either Josh, Metis' mom, or Metis. The comm seemed to respond negatively, because Josh was being an ass in your fic. also because it's a straight pairing in a yaoi comm So this is good, neh? You wrote Josh to be a semi-dislikable figure, here he is jonesing for his boyfriends' mom, and since Metis is the hero of Honeydew Syndrome... people don't like him cheating on Metis (even if merely in his thoughts and intentions). So, take it as a compliment, that people care enough about your characters to be upset when one of them screws up

I'm glad that parts of it were good enough to envision. I didn't quite know how to do Metis' character toward Josh, so, luffy-duffy was just what it had to be. *fails* About the spelling and grammar, this version is the one I haven't fixed. I did, however, fix the ones in the comm. I think.

Charles decided he could do more damage than Josh could. He crept around a rack of R. L. Stine and Christopher Pike. Like a library ninja, he was standing behind Metis before anyone could notice him.

"I'm glad you've decided to catch up on your reading, May. And peer tutoring? How altruistic."

He smiled, wondering if Josh even knew what that last word meant.

Josh never thought he would actually pleased to see the blond in his presence. But he was this time.

With Charles here, the not-an-emo-emo would forget the previous question. That suited the jock just fine.

He flipped to the next page of the text book, looked at his work, and scratched some random line out--really listening to the conversation between Metis and his best friend.

He wouldn't admit that he was really trying to watch if Charles would do something.

He really hoped not. He obviously didn't have a good hold on his jealousy.

And what the hell did altruistic mean?

May jumped, possibly a good four feet in the air. Honestly, the child had absolutely no ability to sense when people were near. Slumping across the table, he hid his face in his arms, quivering in response to the damage Charles had done to his frail heart.

“I hate you.” He mumbled, peeking up over one arm and craning his head back to glare at his best friend. Charles smiled triumphantly, pulling out a chair and sitting next to him, bracing his cheek on one fist. Ignoring the frantically scribbling Jock across from him. For now.

“Now now May, be nice. Hate is tool of the devil.”

“Well that’s perfect for you then isn’t it?” He quipped back, moving his arm back in irritation when Charles poked it. “Quit it.” He whined, elbowing him back.

“So noble of you to take care of your friends,” Charles sniped, gesturing towards Josh. “Amazing how you can just choose loyalties like that…”
