:flail:See with all these angst warnings I was worried that I was gonna cry when reading this. Well - boo on you. I didn't! I felt bad for Alipants, don't get me wrong, but I was far more glad that Zev wound up happy. Though at the same time I understand - quite well - Eloise's issue with having to stick to her guns, no matter that it didn't make her happy. That whole "I made my bed, now I gotta lay in it" aspect, :sigh: the hallmark of 'adulthood'. Blah!
But as for crying? Man I must be a cold hearted beyotch, cuz I didn't. I was only happy that she came to her senses.... Though I shall admit very quietly that I read the last scene first to ensure that it wasn't too angsty... :looks innocent:

What can I say, I'm a soft-hearted Ali-girl. I did all his crying for him while I wrote his scene, so he could keep a stiff upper lip.

I put the angst warning on it cos, sometimes, people come home from work after a rough day and this is the last thing they want to read. Me, I can read anything, anytime.

Oh no no noooo I agree with the angst warning. If read unprepared I woulda been flailing all over the place and hiding under my covers and asking how you could be so cruel. Then again, :points to your moniker: you are La Scary Lady, and thus, theoretically cruel. Not that you are, I'm sure you're not!

Yeah, I didn't cry either (but then I'm a Zev girl mostly); I was sad for Alistair, but this will clearly be for the best for everyone, so.

Thank you. I cried buckets writing Ali's scene, but then I was faaar into his head, of course.

And now I have a vision of him, all alone, with Eamon telling him it's for the best :S

Well of course THAT'S not going to be helpful. (And for me, it probably made a difference that I knew going in that Alistair was going to lose her and Hardened My Heart for it. But you can't do that while you're writing it, of course.)

Well, I cried. I've written broken-hearted Alistair too, and man, his head is a hard place to be, so I know what you're talking about.

First I cried for poor, broken-hearted Zev, and then I cried for poor, broken-hearted Alistair. I think you got them both down perfectly. I love this story.
