Mediablasters' Zetsubou Sensei release?

So what's up with that? Vol 1 was supposed to come out in May. There's not even a cover on Amazon. It says you can order it but it will take 1 to 4 weeks to be delivered. As far as I can tell, there's NOTHING on MB's website about SZS.

Ugh, for fuck's sake, people. Don't license something if you're too incompetent to release it properly.

It's possible that there's a delay - from what I've heard, Media Blasters are infamous for their tendancy to release titles horrendously late.

I hate hate HATE the their website, its so hard to navigate and rarely has any useful info. >:/ Compared to the other liscensing companies, theyre a bit incompetent if you ask me. I hope they don't leave SZS hanging for months...

This is how I feel about many of my favorite manga series. I'm so glad that Yen Press picked up some of them, because I'm about ready to go pitchfork and flaming torch on Tokyopop. (The other companies have folded, so they're left... I'm glad that SZS is with DelRay, sooo glad.)

I spoke with a MB producer at Anime North. The art for covers and interstitials they got from Japan was very low quality - VERY low. Like xeroxey. So they're requesting better. Unfortunately, with their release schedules getting set, it looks like DVDs won't arrive till 2011.

Oh, thanks for this! I've been Googling for information since the DVDs failed to release on the intended day, it's great that you actually got to talk to someone involved and get a straight answer.

Although it is a major bummer it's been pushed back so far, I actually want to spend my money on this, dammit!!
