Jack and I were out working in the yard today when it started to rain.  We put away our tools and started to head inside for some lunch when Jack said, "Hey let's go for a walk?"  My immediate response was, "What now??? It's raining.  No."  Then I thought to myself why am I saying this?  I would totally love a walk in the rain.  It would be loads

I dream of a world where when it starts to rain, the people come out to get watered. Where we can pass couples our age, and old men and ladies with their hair streaming and their shirts sticking to their shoulders, and everyone raising their face to the sky and blessing the rain.

I like to walk in the rain. Sometimes, when I was heading home for the day, it would be raining, and I'd not take the bus just to walk in it. I'd be totally drenched by the time I got home, but it was fun. I can't use the bus as an excuse anymore though, since I have to take the commuter rail home now, and the condo is just across the street from the station. I'll have to pretend to go get groceries or something! Or accidentally get lost.

I told Melissa, "When Katie is older, I don't want us to discourage her from playing out in the rain. It's important that she be allowed to play in the rain if she wants to. It's fun, and the biggest problem is the mess you have to clean up afterward, but it's worth it."

Children must always be encouraged to play in the rain, and even better parents should play with them! ;)

it must have been the day for it....I put on my Crocs and walked in every puddle on our street, it was a beautiful day.
