Today was teh boy's drivers license test. He started this so long ago...I think he was 14 when he first started taking the classroom training. I remember thinking he was just too young. He was probably on the right path for getting it at your typical age of 16 when my Dad was killed by a truck. He has never said that it affected his desire to ( Read more... )

yay for teh boy!!!!(i was almost 18 when i got my dl- we were in a horrible roll over accident right before my 16th birthday, and that kind of ended any interest i had in driving for a long time.)

and boo dad for doing that. i have no words.

Here the high schools provide drivers ed training. It is a great program. I took it. I am glad that he got his license.
In IL there is a transitions period where they have limited driving hours... is that true there too. It is like a 6 months probation for new drivers.

I took drivers ed and a few months later had the first brain surgery so I was not able to drive after that. I guess that was not clear... I did not take the driving test to get the license when I was able to.

Gosh, I don't even know...I think teh boy knows though...I think there is limitations on driving with friends in the car. He doesn't have a huge group that he would hang with outside of school and etc. I'm not too worried about that. I'm just glad he'll be able to drive himself to school on occasion.
