Teh boy started school today. I can't believe he's a junior in high school. When I got home from work today we ran to Target to pick up some school supplies and etc. He's okay with Target tennis shoes so I won't complain. I always get squirmy when people refer to a disease as a war. Maybe I'm just a semantic snob but one of my best friends died of leukemia when she was 17, she was diagnosed when we were 11. She talked about it being a war in the beginning, and in the end she talked about the cancer as a presence that was just unhealthy or incompatible.

Your kiddo made it further in high school than I did. Go him. Go you!

Wow, I must be really out of it, I read your response and didn't even realize that I wrote it like that. Your perspective makes sense, I think I'll chew on that for a while. Thanks for your perspective.

High school, meh...I think it's mostly training the masses, if you're beyond that, skip out. I did that my senior year. I don't know if he'll do that or not. He chose to take Spanish I instead of German II even though I told him he should get 2 years of language out of the way in high school if he wants to go to college. I'm a little apathetic about high school. I didn't fit in and neither does he, he comes from a long line of square pegs. Although, if you put us in a room full of square pegs, we'd probably look pretty round. GRIN
