In my personal opinion as a hardcore Warcraft fan, I truly DETEST this expansion already. I thought Horde and Alliance races are already fine as it is. It's so ridiculous now with the worgen and goblins (who are actually meant to be neutral races).
And all the countless retconning in lore now. I know lore is suppose to evolve and progress, but they are doing it all crazy and terribad.
I do like how they reworked the old world with the Maelstorm's destruction and bringing back Deathwing though.
However, I am making WOTLK my last expansion and never looking into WoW again until Sargeras expansion or something.
You know I have never been an Alliance person DX So no Worgens for me. Like I said, I like the reworking of old world and Deathwing's reintroduction but they don't impress me. I don't feel the hype and love for WoW anymore like I do for WOTLK and TBC when they were first announced.
And it's not even the 5 long, faithful years I stayed with WoW or Aion distracting me because I know every new patch or expansion, I would look forward to it SO BADLY and check MMO-champion.com everyday. But Catalysm... does not at all.
WoW is getting ridiculous and too farfetched. I know it's fantasy and such but it's turning into a "gimmick" thing to attract people to play instead of securing what was once genuine and solid to the Warcraft lore. I can't explain it well but you get what I mean.
I know lore is suppose to progress and evolve like a storybook but this is getting so fucked up and terrible writing. Hurts my head just looking at WoW now DX
I think alot of this Lore is better than the debacle that Burning Crusade was with the Blood Elven Lore and Space Goats.
Granted, I agree it's gotten a bit gimmicky, but I really don't see it anymore gimmicky than Death Knights were in Wrath, or Blood Elves/Outland in BC.
I do agree that some of the Lore changes are fucking stupid though. But, then again, despite that I hate this comeback.... Blizzard does make the Lore up, so who are we to say it doesnt make sense.
That, and come on, you wouldn't want to draw adorable little Goblin females hitting on Zhain, and watching him panic?
