I don't understand his appeal. I can think of hundreds of games with better music.

Okay then. Name them.

For a game with an absolute Nordic feel, it has Nordic music. The lyrics are even in Swedish. [I believe Swedish].

Or maybe you just hold some bias against Elder Scrolls, which is understandable. Oblivion was eh-alright, and Morrowind was complete ass.

Ace Combat, Ar-Tonelico, Odyssey: The Legend of Nemesis (though that was mostly public domain stuff - it did get me in to Debussy and Chopin and Satie), Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Mega Man, Final Fantasy, the Mana series (Legend of Mana had a Swedish song, incidentally), Sonic the Hedgehog, Zone of the Enders, Xenosaga, Xenogears, Breath of Fire, Wild Arms, Castlevania, Gradius, Life Force, Ristar, Turtles in Time, Little Nemo, Musashiden II Blademaster, Panzer Dragoon, Front Mission.
