Who doesn't want fiscal reform? Well, that one's easy to answer: the same people who have been driving the current policies since the early 1930s. As you said above, the American Left. And the reason they don't want reform is because they've already got what they want, or are at least in active pursuit of it.
As for "what the Hell is so wrong with the Tea Party anyway": well, are you aware of the truism that any new movement must endure its period of hazing? This is theirs, and thus far, it's been pretty mild. Whether it will stay that way, I don't know - things could go either way - but I'm not particularly worried for them: unlike, for example, the early Christians or the early civil rights activists in America, the Tea Party is well positioned and prepared to fight back quite effectively. Maybe even effectively enough to keep any violence involved to a minimum.
