Social darwinism??? All they teach in school is that *everybody would be a loser*. If anybody said they wanted to do anything slightly ambitious the teachers would not take long to tell them it would never happen.

There is no guidance in school, there is absolutely nothing. Social Darwinism? It's not useful to teach some people are better than others, it's not even scientific. It's much of the schools responsibility to make sure people *get good at something*. So they need to actually be teaching everybody how to do well, every single damn person. They can't go and call somebody a lost cause, because education is mandatory!

Didn't we fight the British in World War II when they tried to put tacks in our tea to make us buy opium? Yes, I distinctly recall Churchill launching the invasion of New York. Richard III led the troops ashore, and Pancho Villa commanded the defending forces. I'm also pretty sure that Xena, Warrior Princess, fought Princess Diana hand to hand at some point during the climatic Battle of the Milvian Bridge.

I don't think a new sort of subject needs to be introduced, but we definitely need better health education. TEENAGERS, etc , STOP. MAKING. BABIES. and/or getting STDS!

If I hear another FUCKING IDIOT say "We fought the British in World War II" I am going to maim them.

::nearly chokes on coffee::

I am so sorry you've had to hear that. No one should be subjected to such idiocy.

What we need to do is jack up most of our schools and run the Little Red Schoolhouse circa 1875 or so under them. Seriously. Did you know that back then, such schools required of students that they learn multiplication tables through 20 x 20 or even beyond? That they learn copperplate penmanship and real history, and start reading what we now think of as adult literature by 3rd grade or so? How many American children today could do any of that, even by 11th grade? We have fallen far, we have.
