Despite swearing off Gundam as a whole ever since the travesty of Gundam 00, a return to Universal Century is only fitting to be its last hoorah. If UC ends up being as big as a fucking waste as 00 was, then i'll swear off the series for good ( Read more... )

i just finished watching the first episode last night. I won't pass judgment until I have seen the entire series, but it seems to be promising. The main protagonist reminds me of both Kamille and Amuro. There are a lot of subtle and not so subtle nods to Gundam 0079 and Z.

I watched it about 6 hours ago, and really took a liking to it. I'm gonna put the eggs in one basket, but I can see A L O T of promise here.

The Vist Foundation reminds me of the Jupiter Empire from Crossbone Gundam, where they're supposedly been pulling strings for 100 years, since Universal Century started.

Have you read the actual GU novels at all? I hear the story is excellent.

Last horrah? No sir, Gundam never ends. Gundam Unicorn is so extremely excellent though, The quality and designs is like top notch! Everything!

Gundam 00 a travesty? Personally I thought it was the best AU attempted, there was a lot going for it. There was a few bad things as well about it, I suppose one of those bothered you more than me.

Well, I thought that SEED & Destiny were awful, but 00 was just as bad, and that let me down more than the prior two, because it should had learned from their mistakes.

What? Gundam Seed and 00 where a whole other director and animators, designers and so on, that's the whole reason all these AU's exist, since Tomino stopped making Gundam, on to another one.

`I think "giving up on Gundam", would be silly since there's so many and they have little to do with eachother. Have you seen every Gundam, or even every UC? There's also no knowing what the next one will be like. Some people have hated every show since V Gundam and they still consider themselves fans.

I know.

Not every. I didn't see all of Double Zeta, I watched what was more-or-less the "Good Parts" as referred by a friend, and haven't seen Victory Gundam or Turn A Gundam. Not yet at least.

Not true. I nearly quit the franchise due to 00S2's faggotry.
