[Video] ♚ 001

[A smiling Lelouch is sitting back in a desk chair, twirling a chess piece in his fingers. From the look on his face, one would never guess that the castle had fallen to the ground and that most of Somarium was in a state of hysteria. Yes, this was a big deal, but he had seen enough destruction in the past year to not send him into a complete ( Read more... )

...Lelouch?? I had no idea you were here--! Are you all right?

I'm perfectly fine, as is my home, except for the few things that have fallen from the small earthquake.

[Wait a minute... Lelouch is fairly certain that he's never spoken to this young man before, but Tamaki seems to be fairly well acquainted with him.]

Ah, Tamaki, I'm sorry I haven't had the opportunity to meet you sooner and under better circumstances. You had no idea I was here? I arrived a few weeks ago, give or take, I'm not sure of the exact date.

Aaah, that must have been during the time I was asleep. I'm sorry I couldn't greet you before, but I'm glad you're all right. And C.C.-san?

You've been asleep? Forgive me for not noticing, things have been rather hectic the past few weeks. Trying to get settled in a new world is rather rough on a person, though I'm sure you know that.

[He smiles]

C.C. is on her way back home, though not in the condition she left in. It seems as if she had a bit of a scuffle with a pizza thanks to the earthquakes.

Oh no, it's perfectly fine! The fault is mine for not noticing sooner. [though he his own problems at the time

hearing about C.C., though, he gaped]

She did?! Is she all right?? Not burned is she?! [hey, pizza burns could be bad, and he's remembering the giant pizza explosion from way back when.]

I assure you that the only thing harmed is the outfit she has on today.

[You remind Lelouch of Rivalz and Milly rolled into one.]

Ah, Tamaki, let me ask a few questions of you now that I've got you for a minute. What do you think is behind this? Do you think this has anything to do with the New Moon like past events have?

What a relief! Give her my regards.

[blinks and now is thoughtful]

I...am honestly not quite sure, I'm afraid. These recent events are a lot stranger than usual, especially the castle falling! Nothing like that has happened before!

However...[small hesitation as he continues to think through] it is true that during the times of the new moon, darker and more violent events tend to happen. I only recently paid attention to it, though, so I can't say for certain. But when I do think about each monthly event, this does seem true...

What are some events you've experienced since your arrival, Tamaki? You've been in Somarium for two years, haven't you?

Surely you've some stories to tell, some information you could give me to help me learn a little bit more about the strangeness that is this place we now call home.

[there's a brief moment of a pause because...well Lelouch technically has already experienced some of those events. so immediately Tamaki knows that he doesn't remember anything, but he continues onward regardless]

Quite a few actually! Hm...are there any particular ones you'd like to know? If you're asking for something similar to this occasion...there was a time when the barrier failed during a severe sandstorm. When that happened, the monsters from the desert invaded as well... [not a happy memory. moving on!]

There have been other natural disasters, such as an earthquake. However in both those cases, the Overlord appeared and restored everything back to normal. Actually it was after the sandstorm that everything looks as new and renovated as it does now. You should have seen Somarium when we all first arrived! It was so old and run down, as if no one had been around for hundreds of years!

[He's made a mental note of everything Tamaki said, but one thing stood out in particular]

The Overlord appeared? Have you actually seen her for yourself?

Several times! In fact I met her on my first day here. [...she went through his stomach but well no need to relive that moment.]

Tell me everything you know about her, if you wouldn't mind. [He leans back in his desk chair] Describe her in detail.

Everything? Let me see...well first she is a beautiful fair maiden in distress! Oh what a tragedy! When we asked for her name, she could not recall, and that the only thing she remembered was that she had been called the "Overlord". That's why we call her that today.

But she isn't a real person...er, in the living sense. I'm not sure if it's right to call her a ghost now, but at first that's what we all believed. She was at least some kind of spirit since she had no corporeal form. She used to be more involved and would come down to interact with us, but as months went by, she just stayed up in the castle.

Oh, and she had a daughter! Or was it two. I can't remember, but I do remember one of them! ...However...

[Lelouch will just be taking notes over here, quite interested in everything Tamaki has to say]

Please, do continue.

[blinks, as if coming out of a thought]

Well, they eventually all...disappeared. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I never saw or heard about them again, even from the Overlord herself. She has come down to try and answer questions...and there were times when we were taken to the castle and she honored us with her presence there as well. Aaah, she used to throw such grand events there! It was beautiful, you would have enjoyed it I'm sure.

But then...[and another moment of hesitation] There was a murder of another...spirit at the castle.

A murder? Something so terrible must have shaken the entire community. I can't imagine something so vile taking place in what seemed to have been quite a carefree city.

[He writes down more information]

Do you know anything about that? Ah, forgive me for asking so many questions, I just hate being in the dark about things like this.
