Hi - I was just thinking of you - I just finished reading Agatha Christie's The Seven Dials Mystery - it's set in late 1920's and features social commentary about the state of the upper classes, politics, etc. You might find it helpful re your story for mood/tone/flavour/way of speaking amongst young people/etc.

Plus, it's a great book.

(It doesn't feature Poirot or Miss Marple, and it focuses on several characters.)

Ditto'ing! This is one of my two favorite Agatha Christies (the other, not coincidentally, being the OTHER Chimneys book, "The Secret of Chimneys") - I always wished she had written more books in the Chimneys setting. Zany Eastern European politicking for the win!
