International Quilt Festival, Day 1:

Totally awesome!
I blew half my festival budget on amber jewelry, but the highlight of the show was still the quilts.

This one is pieced, not painted - I swear.  It's huge, taller than I am, and gorgeous in person. "Medea Escaping".

That's pretty damn clever. There are some wonderful quilts there in your flickr set - though I have to admit I'm normally more of a fan of the more 'traditional' type, I really liked some of them - the one with the spirals 'escaping' at the corners and breaking out into flowers and animals etc was gorgeous.
