I only managed to catch a little bit of the bout between Becca Ward and A. Navarro - which was great fun till Navarro got injured and had to be taken off the piste. Damn! The video setup is really quite cool, but a bit hard to navigate. (And *gnash* Jaye's laptop is the only machine in the house capable of running Silverlight, which is a bit frustrating!)
But man, it's been ages since I've gotten to watch fencing. Sabre is fun but hard to follow. Lunge-bonk. Flunge-whack. Lunge-whack-bonk. Flunge-swish-bonk. I was pleased when a couple of actions actually did involve some bladework! Plus, it seems I can still more or less spot the right of way even at full speed, although with no certainty whatsoever!
Also, illogicalvulcan and I howled in despair when it cut to the Bushes looking wilted and bored; at one point they even caught W checking his watch. Oy. Good show there, First Family.
You guys weren't the only ones. I was actually watching it with buddies from my fandom chatroom and they jumped ALL OVER the First Couple every time they were shown.
I missed the watch shot, but saw the rest of the wilting.
