As I was walking back to my office from lunch I was stopped by a guy from the local news radio, who asked me if I was "scared to be on a college campus" following the shootings at Virginia Tech. My response was pretty succinct: "Whu? No." He pressed, "You're not scared?" And I said, "No." Just like that. After a few more volleys, I said that

I just heard about this. That's what happens when you don't listen to or read anything all day long. What a tragedy!

I am outraged, utterly infuriated that this has happened. I am beyond enraged at the details coming out, and that so little was done to protect the people on the campus that I loved.

Afraid? Screw fear. Fear paralyzes you, and I have no time for fear. Something must be done, and I can do nothing while I am afraid.
