Some time ago ( last November) I wrote about how I'm so very often aggravated by people with questionable english language skills writing stuff all over the net, concluding that the fact that english isn't my first language either doesn't justify my anger in the least bit. It still aggravates me, but knowing that I'm wrong to be angered, I also feel

English isn't my first language... XD It is the first language I learned how to write in articulately though, which probably makes a difference. I have noticed, however, that people who learn English later tend to be more OCD about grammatical rules (see: my grammar nazi ways).

I've... pretty much given up and assumed all writing is crap until it proves itself otherwise. It's not even necessarily a fault of non-native speakers. There are plenty of horrid writers in the pit who just spit out crap.

It's kind of weird. For the record, I don't flip out when people mangle finnish.

I don't read much fic anymore, not after I read this fic that scarred me for life with its depictions of wreckless people ringing their hands and being horse the hole time... And that I think was written by a native speaker (and a spell chequer).
