When Kanji put his full effort into something, it usually got done.

Unfortunately, even though he was capable of brushing his teeth hard enough to make the bristles fall out, it didn't magically repair his teeth. He'd been putting dentist appointments off long enough with the case to worry about, but he was paying for it now. He wasn't sure what could be wrong, but he did notice that they were really sensitive to hot and cold, if nothing else. So he knocked on the door. He didn't like the dentist, but he couldn't do this himself either.

That the first person to stop by was polite enough to knock in favor of simply barging into the room sat quite agreeably with Metalman, so instead of staying seated and responding with a self-important "come in" he got up to fetch the door and greet the visitor personally.

He still appeared as stone-faced as ever, though. It was something he was working on. "...Hello, Kanji." Admittedly Metalman was a little surprised to find this particular young man standing there; Kanji didn't strike him as the sort to willingly ask for help, nor to go out of his way to chat up his teachers. Stepping to the side to allow Kanji easier entrance he asked with suppressed curiosity, "What brings you to my office?"

"Teeth," he grumbled, trying his best to look tough as he stuffed his hands inside his jacket pockets and averted his eyes. He hoped he didn't have any cavities, even if that was wishful thinking. As for anything more serious than that... well, he didn't even want to think about that.

Sorry, Kanji, but to Metalman you look like you're sulking more than anything else. Still it was the sort of reaction he'd been expecting. "Is that so? Well I'm glad to see a student come out of his own free will. What seems to be the problem? Or are you here for a routine checkup?" He was already grabbing his coat off the rack and slipping it on as he spoke.

Bored bored bored bored bored bored bored BORED. That was what Roger was. So what better to do than run around pestering the faculty? That was pretty manly. Among his list of targets was Metalman. He probably wouldn't be as much fun as Pliskin, but Roger was open to new experiences, so he'd give it a shot.

He looked to the left and to the right for a moment; the hall was empty, so he stood up on his tiptoes to reach the door handle, pulling down and throwing the door open without so much as a knock. "Whatcha doin'?" he asked loudly, bouncing over to the desk and pulling off a random paper to read.

Right, so much for civility.

Metalman hardly had time to utter a startled grunt before Roger had burst into the room and swiped from his desk a sheet illustrating several pretty circular saw diagrams and lots of numbers and equations. Nothing that interesting, really, but a child looking for trouble would take whatever hostage he could get. Unfortunately for Roger, Metalman didn't negotiate with terrorists

For now he would pay no heed to Roger's antics; tactics that might've worked to intimidate other Robot Masters lost their effect when it came to strangers. "I'm doing some research for my next class," Metalman replied evenly, returning his eyes to the book before him.

Not even manly terrorists? "Research, huh? What do you teach anyway?" he turned the paper around and around, recognizing the circular saw but not really caring. He was perfectly aware who the Metalwork teacher was, but why miss a chance to ask more questions?

That depends, you know any? "Metalsmithing. It's always open for new students if you'd like to join." He glanced out of the corner of his eye to the furry-eared boy. Metalman wasn't aware this was actually the Real Manliness teacher he was talking to, but even if he had Roger still would've been spoken to like a mere (tiny, and loud) student.

Try as he might, Kevin was unable to shake the gripping paranoia of having tiny things living on his teeth and slowly eating away at them. Eewwww. But the tooth doctor robot seemed to know a whole lot about teeth, so he thought that he could help do something about them even if they were supposed to be there.

Unfortunately for Metal, Kevin was as unfamiliar with the practice of knocking before opening a door as he was with oral hygiene, so he just pushed it open and walked right in.

"Hello?" He asked.

As long as Kevin didn't run around grabbing Metalman's stuff the tooth doctor robot wouldn't particularly mind the "breach of etiquette" - he wasn't the CEO of some important company or anything so there really wasn't much etiquette to breach anyway!

"Hello," he greeted Kevin and set his pen down. This boy hadn't been to his Metalsmithing class but it looked like he had something to either ask or say regardless, so Metalman fixed him with an attentive gaze and folded his hands on the desk. "What can I do for you?"

"You... the metal man?" Kevin asked. He really wasn't entirely sure what the tooth doctor robot's real name was, but everyone did keep referring to him as "metal man", and this guy definately looked like he was made of metal, sooooo... "You know about teeth! Ah... the things that live on teeth too! Can you help?"

Metalman blinked at Kevin's speech. And then it clicked - this was probably the same person with the questionable spelling skills from his last blog entry. Seeing him in person...it was actually kind of endearing in a strange sort of way. If only he knew.

"yyYes, I'm Metalman. And I do know a thing or two about teeth." He cocked his head slightly. "What is it you need help with?"

A knock came as Sparkster let himself in.

"Hello Mr. Metalman, sir.Thank you again for taking the time to see me." he said politely while pulling his sword out from its hilt. "Well, here it is."

Sparkster tried his best to keep his blade in good condition but it had been a long time since he'd taken to get it reforged and it was beginning to show.

there were signs of faint scratches along the blade and the edge was getting dull and slightly chipped. Scars from the battles it was fought in. Possibly even some from before it ended up in Sparkster's ownership.

"Not at all," Metalman said while rising to join Sparkster and have a look at his sword. Truly it did appear to have seen quite a bit of employment, as evidenced by the various scrapes and nicks in the blade's surface. Each told a story of the many battles the sword had seen, but Metalman didn't personally know the sentimental value of a weapon worn from use.

He let out a 'hmm' as he scrutinized Sparkster's pride and joy, and upon reaching some conclusion nodded his head. "Your sword's certainly seen better days, but restoring it shouldn't be a problem. Would you like me to completely reforge it for you, then? Doing so shouldn't take more than a day, I would say." Actually that was a bit of a lie. The metal itself wasn't the same as what Metalman had worked with in class, but he had a feeling he could convince the fire to work some magic of its own if he asked politely enough.

"A day?" Sparkster asked before giving a smile of approval. After witnessing him in class, Sparkster was very confident in Metalman's abilities. "Very well then."

With palms open, Sparkster handed his sword over to the metalsmith. "Yes, this thing has been through a lot these past few years but I completely trust your skills."

Okay, maybe he should've gone with "by Monday at the earliest," but Metalman hadn't been built for good old-fashioned upstanding honesty.

He had been built to do things, however, so if he buckled down over the next 24 hours he could probably finish by the time Sparkster came calling. It wasn't the longest or thickest sword in existence anyway.

Metalman delicately took the opossum's sword and nodded responsibly. "Thank you. I'll be sure to let you know if I expect any delays."
