"Well! It's certainly not so different to some of the port cities back home!" Clark replied. He had with him a small suit case filled with clothes and writing utensils as he intended to take extensive notes.

He was wearing his Smallville jacket, blue jeans and a button up shirt, being as Surge was less than impressed with the 'I 'heart' Kansas' motif. And of course, there was a certain blue, red and yellow number underneath all that. Even though Clark wasn't going to be doing any... super... stuff here. He'd promised himself. This world had no Superman. He didn't want to contaminate it's culture by bringing out the suit and flying around - He viewed this almost like an anthropological investigation. Observe only. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures. That kind of thing.

He couldn't help but stare, standing there on the warf. Looking up at him were several large red... eyes? They were shiny and glistening and attached to blue, tentacled bodies. Obviously some of the native wildlife.

Hidan's appearance definitely seemed less-than-pleasing to the passers-by. People, especially parents with children in tow, made sure to shy away from the group. Some even ran. At this rate, it didn't seem like he would blend in so easily, and Surge was quick to recognize that.

"Uh, hey, kid, you really think you should be carryin' that thing around here?" He spoke. If Hidan didn't mind, he might just attempt to persuade him to leave the scythe at the gym. In Kanto, all he needed was his Houndour (Houndoom if it had evolved by now).

Besides, he didn't want people running away from them and being scared of them.

"...I'd have to second that, sorry Hidan." Clark said quietly. "When I arranged this trip through Headmaster Mickey, I said we'd do our best to keep cross cultural contamination to an absolute minimum... meaning you and I need to try and blend in as much as possible so we don't leave a lasting impression that could alter the history and culture of this planet for good. I don't think you'll need a weapon here so perhaps we could stow it somewhere out of sight for the time being? Or at least put a large bag over the blades to make it look like some other kind of tool?"

It didn't seem like... quite the easiest thing to cover up, but sure, Surge could deal with that for now.

"Yeah, sure, but if it gets too crazy, leave it at my gym! My buddies'll keep watch on it," he informed him before pausing. Oh yes, would they like to see the gym first, or the seafood joints, or the (heaven forbid) Pokemon fan club, or would they like to advance to the city, or-

Ah hell, he'll just find out.

"So hey! Wanna take a quick look around Vermilion and my gym?"

Clark looked around and spotted a pile of empty sacks on the warf. They looked a little worn, but clean. Not seeing anyone around he walked over and picked one up, dusting it off.

"Here, Hidan. Try this. It even has a drawstring you can use to tighten it around the handle... Once we're done with that then yes. I'd very much enjoy seeing the town a little."

That looked plenty better. As long as it just looked like a stick decor from another culture, Surge believed they could deal with little to no issue. He grinned, that problem now being a hurdle jumped.

But that smirk soon fell. Oh god. The Pokemon fan club. He just had to inquire about that.

"... Uh," He replied oh-so-eloquently. "A group that shares similar interests, something or another like that. This is for Pokemon fans!"

Oh god, did he really have to-- "You wanna... check it out?" Yes, he had to offer. Oh god. He was not well-awaiting the yammering the Fan Club president would likely greet them with.

"Actually, that sounds like a fantastic place to begin our trip." Clark said, perking up right away. "Why are we here if not to learn from this world and it's inhabitants? And the many and varied Pokemon species here sure are interesting. A group of Pokemon enthusiasts might just be the best place to pick up valuable information about them."

He had a point, guys. C'mooooon.

Dammit Claaaaaark. Clearly you are just conspiring against him. Clearly.

"Uh." Surge seemed to have a habit of saying that. "... Yeah, something like that. C'mon, we'll come and go real quick," He motioned for them to follow, his face touched with an unusual look of dread.

He opened the door of the building, and within mere seconds, they were greeted by an awfully cheery, talkative old man. Oh boy.

"Oh my goodness gracious, hello Lt. Surge! My, you are looking all too handsome today, aren't you? Oh, and so are your friends! It is such a pleasure! Oh, your silver hair reminds me of that of the famed shiny Rapidash of myth! Its mane is such a glimmering silver...

Lovely...
... Amazing... Sleep with it...
Hug it... Cuddle it..."

Oh.

Dear.

Lord.

Arceus, help them.
