Snake liked to explore, too, especially since without missions, all he had to do was teach. He was passing through the good old courtyard when he caught a glimpse of Jill.

While she wasn't a "friend" to him (and possibly never would be), Jill was one of the people Snake had talked to on more than one occasion, and was kind of pretty friendly with. Why not say hello?

He waved as he approached her. "Jill?"

Jill turned at hearing her name, somehow surprised. For someone who'd ventured out here to find people in the first place, she hadn't really been expecting to.
"Oh, Hey, Pliskin." she returned the wave, with a bit of a smile. "Fancy meeting you here."
