I'm pleased to hear that the visit's going well.

Also: D&D? I mean, the new edition is very Exalted-esque, but I never thought I'd see the day...

It should be noted that Hodge spent half a day cajoling us into it, and ultimately bribed us to play by using coins for bad guys on the map and letting us keep the money we "won" killing dudes. Also that I defaced his book by drawing breasts on the cleric because there were no babes pictured.

But yes, we did have fun. Not 100% my cup of tea (for one thing there's no appearance stat) but a fun evening overall.

There actually was an appearance stat (Comeliness), back in the bad old days of 1st Edition, when the rules were multiplying out of control. Unfortunately, it was never really used for anything (other than giving people the ability to mind-control others if it got high enough, about which the less said the better) or integrated into the rest of the rules, so it got dropped.

...and this has been "Things you never knew or wanted to know about D&D", with Alec Austin.

I think V-Jay D-Day D-Jay would be an even better name. Or Tarantula Explosion.

You can be the lead singer of Tarantula Explosion when you get back. There are plenty of goth clothes to dress your rocker in. :D
