Other than the excruciating fucking pain this has been a wonderful weekend. I managed to do something horrid to my back--not sure what but I've never had back pain like this. Consequently I am spending the rest of the afternoon flat on my back (insert filthy joke here). If it doesn't spasm for a while maybe I'll make it to It's a Beautiful Pizza ( Read more... )

That book looks amazing. I love the subtitle too… “and other stories you're sure to like because they're all about monsters and some of them are also about food.” I might have to get that as a coffee table book of some sort.

One of my favorite stories in the book is entitled "The Mummy Won't Go to his Eternal Rest Without A Story and Some Cookies."

It's so totally worthwhile.

It seems to be better for some prolonged horizontal time.

Cue Mr. Lovescats saying "I told you so."

I hurt my back somehow a couple years ago. I believe it was stress combined with inability to do yoga properly combined with hockey. I was crawling around on the floor for a while, scared and crying, but then it just got better on its own.

That was pointless, but there you have it.

It's not pointless...as a lifelong paranoid hypochondriac I sometimes forget that not every injury is going to be permanent. My dad has a herniated disc and so every time I get a joint twinge or back tweak I freak out. "This is it! I'm ruined now! Ruined!"

The more stories I can hear about healed up back pain, the better.

Who's the bird on your icon, btw? She looks either very sympathetic or very disapproving, I can't decide which one.

I LOVED The Wicker Man. You must give impressions once you feel up to it.
I'll have to look up Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich. Might be useful in my Children's lit class.

I didn't make it to the viewing last night, but on such recommendations shall I rent it soon.

Ooh, children's lit, sounds fun. Are you taking it for shits and giggles, or do you need it for something?
